If you game needs to be elevated to run then your autoit script needs to be elevated to run as well if it is to interact the game. However maybe something is wrong with ur game and it could affect autoit as well. If elevating doesn't work again then trying performing a controlclick to the volume to shut it down.

I had done something similar for spotify to shut down ads. Controlclick on the volume.

Edit: I haven't use vlc for years now but check the setting. It might have hotkey settings for the voice or pause or whatever else.

The issue is with the game taking all input from the mouse and keyboard, and not letting Windows have it.

There are ways to get around that, but we're not going to discuss them in this thread.
