jack71
I'm trying to get the Window class of a window that dynamically changes. The class has the same base, but ends in a different 8 numbers. Can autoit match class partially? For whatever reason, maybe d/t the programs long window title name, I can't use title sufficiently to winactivate and to grab the class. ControlGetText("[CLASS:Afx:00400000:b:00010011:12345678", "", "Button21") Note the 12345678. The class name is the same everytime except the last 8. Moderators Melba23 Posted June 9, 2014 Moderators Share Posted June 9, 2014 (edited) jack71,Using the "REGEXPCLASS" mode should help. Look in the Help file under <Using AutoIt - Window Titles and Text (Advanced)>. Try this and see if it works:ControlGetText("[REGEXPCLASS:Afx:00400000:b:00010011:\d{8}", "", "Button21")M23 Edited June 9, 2014 by Melba23 Misread the question Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area

Any idea why the same program software installed over various machines would have different class names? Are class ID's randomly generated at execution? Just curious .
