return browser object from a function

Recommended Posts

Hi

Running this script rais errors :

#include <IE.au3>

Func Login($Url)
  Run(@ProgramFilesDir & "Internet ExplorerIEXPLORE.EXE" & " " & $Url)
  $TempoIE = _IEAttach ("", "instance",1)
  return $TempoIE
EndFunc

Local $oIE = (Login($Url))

-> IE.au3 T3.0-1 Warning from function _IEAttach, $_IESTATUS_NoMatch
--> IE.au3 T3.0-1 Error from function _IENavigate, $_IESTATUS_InvalidDataType
--> IE.au3 T3.0-1 Error from function _IETagNameAllGetCollection, $_IESTATUS_InvalidDataType

How to pass the oIE object from the login function?

Use _IECreate instead of Run and _IEAttach

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
