Question about outputted encrypted data

Recommended Posts

I have a have a simple gui to encrypt/decrypt files and data with a combobox to choose the algorythem and you can set a custom key.

On the ecryption output I want to be able to display it as text in a edit feild, but the it shows it all distorted with symbols. I tried adding BinaryToString() but didn't change it. Any way I can get the encryption output to show in readable text and still be able to decrypt it after?

If someone can give me a one-liner exmaple or just link to a function. I'd greatly appreciate it.

Solved:

I figured it out. After encrypting I had it running BinaryToString() on the output data. I removed BinaryToString() from the encrypted data and it worked fine.

Binary to string converts it, try StringToBinary, you'll get a hex display of each character.

Keep in mind, that some of the encrypted characters are going to be non-printable, which is why you need to convert it to the hex display.

Common sense plays a role in the basics of understanding AutoIt... If you're lacking in that, do us all a favor, and step away from the computer.
