Process Information Detail

Recommended Posts

My ultimate goal is to find out what processes have serial ports on a computer open. I started out with Sysinternals Process Explorer. If you highlight the process on top it will list everything it has open on the bottom. One of those things being serial ports. Process Explorer lists it as a file and the path is the device name such as \device\vcp0 for virtual comport 0. On the bottom half of the screen it shows any object that the process has open, the type of the object and a whole lot more.

I have spent the last couple of days searching the forum and downloading UDFs in hopes of finding something similar to Process Explorer but haven't found anything that gives me that kind of detail about a process. Any ideas?
