Chrome/Excel Quick question

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, totally new here, feel free to point me in the right direction if I'm not in the right place.

I was searching for a way to automate a task that I have to do very often and stumbled upon this place.

Basically, I would like to take a first name, last name, and either a social security number or a birthday, all of which have previously been entered into an excel spreadsheet, and enter them into a form on a website (each individually). Once that's done I need to click 'Submit', which should open up a PDF file which needs to be printed. I would like to then repeat these tasks until the excel file has been exhausted.

Does this sound like something that AutoIT can do? Obviously I am not experienced with this type of thing, but I would be willing to learn. If I can solve this problem then I can see a lot of other tasks that I could potentially automate in the future.

Hi, aldumil, welcome to the forum. AutoIt can accomplish this, yes. To begin your journey, I would suggest looking at the built in Excel functions in the help file. These functions will allow you to capture the data you want.

Once you have this piece down, look in the Examples forum under the Chrome UDF for that part.

Of course, if you get stuck, please feel free to post your code here and we will do what we can to assist.
