WinHttpRequest and binary file transport?

14 posts in this topic

I tried to download a binary file (.jpg) from a webpage with

Func BinaryGetURL($URL)
 ;Create an Http object
  Dim $Http
  $Http = ObjCreate("WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1")
 ;Send request To URL
  $Http.Open("GET", $URL, False)
  $Http.Send()
   return $Http.ResponseText
EndFunc

and i get something like

ÿØÿà

not much for a 16kb jpg B)

it's the same with $Http.ResponseBody and $Http.ResponseStream. nothing works correctly with binary.

But the file was completly transfered!

what do to?

just use INetGet.

responsetext probly contains 0's and strings are null terminated B)

Where can I find documentation on the Variable events such as $VARIABLE.EVENT.

I see it in your code and I would love to learn about it.

note: im not even sure they are called events.

BinaryString() ? I searched AutoIt Help (beta) but i only found Binary()

Binary($Http.ResponseText);or Binary($Http.ResponseBody)

but no change...

but why not just use INetGet ?

'cause it only can handle 1 connection. B)

Has anyone tried this with 3.2.2.0?

InetGet doesn't work with Vista, so I am trying to use this method.

ResponseBody seems to be completely empty right now

ResponseText works fine for text responses / files

You dug up a 4 year old topic just to post a message on a forbidden subject? Good move.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

As I understand, you have much time and nothing to do because you're writing posts not related to this topic.
