How to "quote" a path to a file?

3 posts in this topic

I'm using the FileOpenDialog like this.

$videofile = FileOpenDialog ( "Select Video File", "::{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}", "Windows Media Files (*.wmv)" ,1 )

$videofile may equal something like this. C:\some path\with spaces\myfile.wmv

How do I get quotes around $videofile? I tried concatenating the " character but I cant seem to get it correct. Anyone have a way to do this?

I believe FileGetShortName() is what you are looking for.

I would check the helpfile, but I have yet to get wine working in linux right now B)

Writing AutoIt scripts since
_DateAdd("d", -2, _NowCalcDate())

Thanks for that tip. After searching the forum some more I found another answer.

$file = '"' & $file1 & '"'
