does anyone know of a key combination. it is possible to move the mouse over to the file in question, right-click and a context menu appears, select C and it closes but, i have no way of getting to the context menu without right-clicking the mouse.

Have you looked at ControlSend in the help files.

actually, i just found a solution on this forum that meets the need perfectly

Send('+{F10}') is the way to right-click and get to the context menu associated with the selected item
