No access to a crystal ball at the moment so you need to share more details:

  • Are you running from SciTE
  • What happens when SciTE is runnning as Administrator and you run the script?
  • Show the Output console info when hanging
  • Show the whole script.
  • etc etc

Works fine for me, no delays and no hangup.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

No idea, the same ends for me right away. I am running newer version of SciTE/ AutoIt3wrapper, but the same AutoIt3.exe.

What does the AutoIt3 icon say in the systemtray?

try running the script without autoit3wrapper to exclude that ... so just from the commandline ( or upgrade to the latest to exclude any bug i fixed in the past)

Just an advise because you are kind of new here like I'm, sarcasm does not  work very well here.
People here just help on their free time and maybe this does not help you to find help.

Again: This is just an advise, take it or leave it.

Alien.

Just for grins you may want to try my compiled UpdateEnv program.  It uses a variation of Melba's Toast with 3 calls to EnvUpdate() and sleep while the toast is showing.   Just makes it obvious to the user that something is happening.  Mainly I use it to flush the Registry to disk without having to log out and back in.  That is why I make 3 calls.  Just to try to drive in the nail.  :)

The file is UpdateEnv.zip on the page below

http://milesaheadsoftware.org/

btw I have noticed on Windows 7 and Windows 8.0 that EnvUpdate() can have long delays and hang at times.  I think that is one reason I wrapped it in Toast.  To make it obvious where the program was pausing.  It seems to require killing via Task Manager much less often the way I have it now.  Three calls interspersed with calls to Sleep().  If I just let it sit it will usually complete on its own accord.  Most times it runs as expected though.  I have no idea why unless the Registry has lots of changes to save to disk?  I don't know.

@Alien4u not sarcasm.

@MilesAhead, Your program only further notice, but slow 4x.
I was downgraded to Windows7, I will use Windows 10 when I bought a new computer.
I will not use the EnvUpdate(), instead I choose to kill explorer and restart program again.

Thanks All,
Regards

Yea... shit happens, but there is no need to post the Notice page and you simply remove the duplicate post. much easier ;)
