StringMid give NOT a full Data

Recommended Posts

Hallo,

I save a .log file (read html Code) and I want find certain information there.

My approach:
; open file
; Retrieve the character position1 of where the string 'Sting1' first occurs in the sentence.
; Retrieve the character position2 of where the string 'Sting2' first occurs in the sentence.
; Define $iInt = position1-position2
; Local $sString = StringMid($sFileRead, $iFilePos1, $iInt)

But I saw another (short) Information from the file.

Do you have some Idea?

Thanks a lot

tubsids,

Welcome to the AutoIt forums.

It works fine for me - if you do the maths correctly:

$sString = "blahblahString1This_is_what_is_wantedString2blahblah"

$iPos_1 = StringInStr($sString, "String1")
$iPos_2 = StringInStr($sString, "String2")

$iLen = $iPos_2 - $iPos_1 - StringLen("String1") ; You must remove the length of the first string

$sExtract = StringMid($sString, $iPos_1 + StringLen("String1"), $iLen) ; you must advance by the length of the first string

ConsoleWrite($sExtract & @CRLF)
