BretHutch
Does AutoIT have a recording mode that would allow me to create a script by having it record my keystrokes and mouse clicks?
Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted June 30, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 30, 2016 @BretHutch welcome to the forum. AutoIt used to have this feature, but it has been removed. Please read through the topic below to see why, as well as what you can do. "Profanity is the last vestige of the feeble mind. BretHutch
I downloaded the .zip file Jon linked to and I couldn't find the au3record.exe file in the zip file. Can you point me to it? Do I just need to put it in the other program files folder to run it?
Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted June 30, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 30, 2016 @BretHutch Time to get your eyes checked I just downloaded the zip file, and can see the executable plain as day under Extras>>Au3Record. BretHutch
OK I see the folder now. I just needed to scroll up in WinZip. Thanks for making me look bad. Is it pretty easy to use?
Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted June 30, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 30, 2016 It is pretty easy to use, yes. But it is also designed solely to show you how automation can be done, as someone new to scripting. You will find before long there are much better methods of automation than recording mouse moves and clicks. "Profanity is the last vestige of the feeble mind.
