Is the controlID ignored on the controlsend?

data only goes to whoever has focus, Not understanding what the controlID is doing on the controlsend.

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include<msgboxconstants.au3>

Global $hgui = GUICreate("focus & send",300,300)
Global $id_a = GUICtrlCreateInput('aaaa',0,0)
Global $id_b = GUICtrlCreateInput('bbbb',0,40)
Global $id_c = GUICtrlCreateInput('cccc',0,80)
guisetstate()
ControlFocus('',"",$id_a) ; focus is on a
Sleep(2000)
ControlSend('',"",$id_c,'dddd') ; send data to c
ControlFocus('','',$id_b) ; now focus on b
sleep(2000)
ControlSend('',"",$id_c,'dddd') ; send data to c
sleep(2000)
MsgBox($mb_ok,'blank','never got any data to C')

The control ID on that control is an internal AutoIt control ID and not a Windows ID, AFAIK. If you're trying to send data to a control that is in a GUI that was created with AutoIt, use AutoIt's GUICtrlSetData function instead.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

Between the controlfocus & controlsend, I was able to accomplish what I wanted. running code in an WM_COMMAND exit, wanted to get out quickly, but trigger another event via controlsend  with an {enter} to complete operation that will involve some wait time. ControlFocus immediately followed by ControlSend seems to work. Not truly trusting this I have since gone to a switching method, set a flag in WM_command routine, scan for flag in outside routine, turn it off when finished. This seems quite reliable. Thank you for your input on ControlSend.
