How do I resize controls without recreating them?

Is there a way to resize label, input etc... controls without recreating them?  The only option I can find to size the controls are in the create functions for them.  Right now I am deleting then recreating them but wondered if there was an easier way.  This is for individual controls within a gui not the gui itself with the resize handle.
