you forget to point out where stupid users could actually change it to 145.

also how does your script work with multiple nic's ?

Not build in yet it was just a example making it work with multiple is easy

add extra parameter to stringinst so it scans for the occurance

it works for more cards then.

What happens if you change the subnet of your internet nic to 145.0.0.0 is that you will not be able to connect to most websites and host because the tcp system will try to connect directly without using the default gateway. So they will notice it and stupid users won't have a network so they NIC is often a internet NIC
