Covering the file aspect of the question.

Local $FileName = @ScriptDir & "\Filename.txt" ; File with leading space

Local $t = FileRead($FileName)
ConsoleWrite($t & @CRLF)

Local $hFlleW = FileOpen($FileName, 2) ;   $FO_OVERWRITE (2) = Write mode (erase previous contents)
FileWrite($hFlleW, StringStripWS($t, 1)) ;  $STR_STRIPLEADING (1) = strip leading white space,
;                                           or, use mikell's StringRegExpReplace() example.
FileClose($hFlleW)

ConsoleWrite(FileRead($FileName) & @CRLF)
