FileInstall; If Not FileExists necessity?

was wondering if it was necessary to check if the file exists before FileInstall, so that every time I start the program up, it won't write the jpeg into my temp folder again. however I don't know the behavior of FileInstall, so I don't know if it checks before installing in the first place.

Also, DirCreate should just return error code if the directory exists, and if it doesn't, it'll install the directory anyhow, right? so technically I don't need to check if the directory exists already.

If Not FileExists(@TempDir & '\Temps') Then DirCreate(@TempDir & '\Temps')
    If Not FileExists(@TempDir & '\Temps\Background.jpeg') Then FileInstall('C:\Backgrounds\Background.jpeg', @TempDir & '\Temps\Background.jpeg', 1)

FileInstall with the overwrite flag set to 0 will not overwrite files if they already exist. So, it won't try to reinstall files that are already there.

That's true, it's not going to cause any problems trying to create a directory that already exists from all that I know about DirCreate.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.
