Odd problem setting font on control that has $GUI_DROPACCEPTED

I have an edit control defined to accept files (with $GUI_DROPACCEPTED).  It works fine ... until I try to follow the SetState with a SetFont statement.  It disables the control (the control no longer accepts input).

Is this a known situation?  I tried adding $GUI_ENABLE to the Set Status, but it did not help:

$entry = GUICtrlCreateEdit($fill, 18, 72, 500, 400, $ES_WANTRETURN)
GUICtrlSetState(-1, BitOR($GUI_DROPACCEPTED, $GUI_ENABLE))
GUICtrlSetFont(-1, 12)

Can someone point me to documentation for this case?

Thanks in advance for any help.

qwert,

I can use the $GUI_DROPACCEPTED state and still use the edit:

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <EditConstants.au3>

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500)

$cEdit = GUICtrlCreateEdit("Test", 18, 72, 500, 400, $ES_WANTRETURN)
GUICtrlSetState($cEdit, $GUI_DROPACCEPTED)
GUICtrlSetFont($cEdit, 12)

GUISetState()

While 1
    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
    EndSwitch
WEnd

It must be something else in the script that is causing the problem - but as you have not even posted even a runnable snippet demonstrating the problem, there is little more I can suggest.

Melba23, thanks for looking at this.  It was so clear cut in my actual script (commenting out the SetFont makes it work) that I thought I had isolated something simple.

Now that I have to consider the bigger picture, I'll backtrack and look at these additional aspects:

  • The edit control is on a tab panel
  • It's loaded with content using a GUICtrlSetData statement in another part of the script.
  • Although I can control the font by using GUISetFont, changing the font in that statement from 12 to 11.5 causes the edit control to fail.

So, it's more complicated than I had hoped.  But I'll proceed as you've suggested ... and post a reproducer script or a solution.
