How to run an executable program without ".exe" extension?
I have a program (not autoit) and I want to open it by autoit (manage the open and close) Example: winrar.exe, but I do not want the client to see that is a winrar in the folder, so I thought of renaming "winrar .exe "to" abc.d "and open it with autoit. Does anyone have any idea how to treat another extension as an ".exe?"

Try adding your extension to the PATHEXT environment variable and then running it.

Example:

#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3>

Example()

Func Example()
    ; Retrieve the system environment variable called %PATH%.
    Local $sEnvVar = EnvGet("PATHEXT")

    ; Assign the system environment variable called %PATH% with its current value as well as the script directory.
    ; When you assign an environment variable you do so minus the percentage signs (%).
    EnvSet("PATHEXT", $sEnvVar & ";.application")

    ; Refresh the OS environment for changes to take affect.
    EnvUpdate()

    ; Retrieve the system environment variable that was just assigned a value previously.
    $sEnvVar = EnvGet("PATHEXT")

    ; Display the value of the environment variable $PATH%.
    MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "", "The environment variable %PATHEXT% has the value of: " & $sEnvVar)
EndFunc   ;==>Example

I haven't tested this, but it should work if you add your Run function where the MsgBox is.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
