SciTE: can't delete parameters permanently

Recommended Posts

Hi,

if I open the parameters in SciTE with Shift+F8 the 4 fields are always prefilled with 4 pathes I set a long time ago. I can delete them now or set them new and these will stay as long as SciTE stays opened. But the moment I close SciTE and start it again, the 4 older pathes are set again. Normally these 4 fields should be empty.

Where is the place where these old parameters are set?

Regards, Simpel

Just a blind guess, but did you set them as administrator perhaps, and open Scite as non-adminstrator?

Hi @Jos,

now do I have time again to face this problem. Au3.properties is unchanged. SciTEUser.properties does have a lot of entries. But most of them were created after running SciTE-Config. Some small changes were made by myself:

# Editor pane, 0 = System default (ANSI) ; 65001 = UTF8
code.page=0
# Output pane, 0 = System default (ANSI) ; 65001 = UTF8
output.code.page=0
# macht im Fall von Read-only ein | nach den Dateinamen im TAB
read.only.indicator=1
# stoppt die Markierung vor dem ersten Punkt z.B. für $sText.objectName
word.characters.$(au3)=$(chars.alpha)$(chars.numeric)$(chars.accented)$_@#
# 1 set the output pane to the right, 0 below the editing pane
split.vertical=1

But as far as I remember, I do have this small problem much more longer then these changes.

Did a change happen how or where things like these parameters (that should be only temporary) were saved?

Check the Local Options File to see if they're in there. This can be opened from Options menu in SciTE.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Nope,

Local Options File (SciTE.properties) is totally empty.
