Reading a text in game - (Locked)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I am very new to AutoIT, so I would really appreciate your help with my scripting issue :)

I'm trying to find a way to read a simple text (character name) in a game.

So basically what I want my script to do is to look for the name "meepmoopmeow" from a specific fifixed window location. And if it doesn't find it, call Exit.

Here's a screenshot of the text image.

Is this possible? Which function should I use to read the text?

I have tried WinGetText but it did not recognised the texts (duh!).

I have read about the use of OCR such as Tesseract to read texts from images but the problem is I might be sending the script other Non IT people who will not have Tesseract application.

Many thanks in advance!

Welcome to the AutoIt forum.

Unfortunately you appear to have missed the Forum rules on your way in. Please read them now - particularly the bit about not discussing game automation - and then you will understand why you will get no help and this thread will now be locked.

See you soon with a legitimate question I hope.
