How can I quickly list all files and folders, including hidden files and system files?

https://prnt.sc/12qv8zk

I am using this it took exactly 1 hour, including all file folders, hidden items and system files :(

#RequireAdmin
#include <File.au3>
$AllFilesFolderList = @ScriptDir & "\List " & @HOUR & "-" & @MIN & "-" & @SEC & "_" & @MDAY & "." & @MON & "." & @YEAR & ".txt"

$sSearchAllFilesFolder = _FileListToArrayRec(@HomeDrive, "*", $FLTAR_FILES, $FLTAR_RECUR, $FLTAR_FASTSORT, $FLTAR_FULLPATH)
If IsArray($sSearchAllFilesFolder) Then
    FileWrite($AllFilesFolderList, "All Files Folder List Date: " & @HOUR & ":" & @MIN & @CRLF)
    For $i = 1 To $sSearchAllFilesFolder[0]
        FileWrite($AllFilesFolderList, $sSearchAllFilesFolder[$i] & @CRLF)
    Next
EndIf

I've looked at all of these threads but I have no idea which one to use. :think: :huh2:

Two suggestions right off the bat:

Get a handle to your output file using fileopen(), and use that for your FileWrites.

Drop the sorting altogether, at least long enough to see what the impact is.

Code hard, but don’t hard code...

youtuber,

Just over 3 minutes - C: drive holds 50Gb of data and just under a million files/folders:

#include <File.au3>

$AllFilesFolderList = @ScriptDir & "\List " & @HOUR & "-" & @MIN & "-" & @SEC & "_" & @MDAY & "." & @MON & "." & @YEAR & ".txt"

$sSearchAllFilesFolder = _FileListToArrayRec("C:\", "*", $FLTAR_FILESFOLDERS, $FLTAR_RECUR, $FLTAR_NOSORT, $FLTAR_FULLPATH)

If IsArray($sSearchAllFilesFolder) Then
    _FileWriteFromArray ( $AllFilesFolderList, $sSearchAllFilesFolder , 1)
EndIf
