Licensing.au3 UDF

This is my first attempt at publishing a UDF. I was looking for a way to provide application product licensing and liked the look of the freeware Inno Key Generator tool. The attachment includes a complete test harness and instructions for embedding this into your own programs. I hope you like it.

PS while exploring registration key license validation I also tried ShareGuard. I rejected this solution mainly because it corrupted AU3 executables. As soon as any AU3 exe is packaged in ShareGuard the AU3 exe throws out an AU3 error dialog box and crashes. A secondary reason was that ShareGuard has a horrible GUI that I would not wish to be associated with. And it was that second reason that triggered me into using AU3's strengths & design my own GUI. And now to de-install Shareguard.

Hey Andy,

This looks pretty cool! I'll download INNO Keygenerator tool later and have a play. Very nifty indeed. Mite have to run it past the "Obfuscerator" (i think that is what it was called) tool to add the "security through obscurity" feature.

Nice work.

Troy,

Thanks for the heads up. I do my development in Scite, and was wondering about the "decompilation" checkbox and password. Is there any documentation on what this does c.f. obfuscate. Does it implement obfuscate, and if not, sh/could this be an option.

I wrote the EnCodeIt ... Obfuscator, and last night when I looked at your idea here (nice one btw, I do something similar now), I thought of a way that EnCodeIt could be used here. PM me if you would like to know more. (The link to EnCodeIt can be found at the end of my signature.)

Common sense plays a role in the basics of understanding AutoIt... If you're lacking in that, do us all a favor, and step away from the computer.
