first of all, if i have entered this in the wrong place, sorry, please delete.

i was wondering how difficult, or if it is even possible, to provide a NEW macro, something like @TaskbarHeight, available like @DesktopHeight and @DesktopWidth to provide the actual available (visible) resolution ?

windows allows the option of large or small taskbar icons and the size of the taskbar changes, and is different on different windows versions.

obviously, this would help in the layout of complicated screens and avoid the trial-and-error method each time a new resolution/win version comes up. luckily enough i haven't had to accommodate taskbars on top, left or right and i fear my request might now include the need for something like @TaskbarWidth and @TaskbarPosition.

... or ... is there somewhere, somehow, i can access this information from windows directly for my use ?

Thanks.

koffeman,

You can use a $SPI_GETWORKAREA call to determine the useable window area. Download my Toast UDF (the link is in my sig) and look inside the __Toast_Locate function to see it being used.
