Question about copying files

Recommended Posts

I am writing a script to copy some files to specific locations at specific times and am debating on whether to use FileCopy, DirCopy or good old xcopy. I have looked through the documentation but cannot figure out what DirCopy does on error, such as an open file.

I know it returns an error code, but does it continue copying or does it stop on the first error?

If that is the case I would lean towards using xcopy with the "/c" parameter which continues even if an error occurs.

Alternatively I could use FileCopy, however I think this would make my script overly complicated considering the number of subdirectories in question.

Thanks for any feedback.
