NTBackup Logs

I wrote a complex AutoIt script that converts NTBackup into a very usable backup solution. However, there's one piece I cannot get working. I need to be able to parse the NTBackup logs and I just cannot seem to do it. Whenever I try to read anything from these files, a couple of symbols are returned and that's it. They appear to be simple text files, but are not responding as such, so I don't know what's wrong.

I'm having the same problem. Could you point me to the solution or post that helped you fixed the problem?
