_Excel_Open() will not open when a variable is used for "path & filename"

I would like some help on this, please.  Seems like it should be real simple error, but I have been struggling with this off&on for a few days.  I've created the full pathname from the filename itself and the MsgBox's are displaying the correct path. When I use the path string in quotes, the file opens.   Error is "File does not exist - -"

I think you are making it too complex. Try this --

$sFilename = "growthinvestor-portfolio-2023-03-04.csv"
Local $CSVpath = "C:\Users\dgend\Downloads\" & $sFilename
_Excel_BookOpen($oAppl, $CSVpath)
