Question about Input Box

I am writing some data into an input box. I want the user to be able to then click in the box and add some additional data into it...However, once I write someting into the box, as soon as the user clicks on the input box, it clears it out. Is there a way so as to not do this or is it a 'by design' feature of Autoit?

Thanks.
