Launching processes remotely -- help!

Recommended Posts

I am trying to launch a process remotely via PsTools. I want to create a GUI that will let the user select a remote computer, and decide whether or not he wants to loop the script or not. The problem I'm having is I don't know how to tell the remote computer whether or not the user selected to loop the process. I've considered making two separate executables - one that loops, one that doesn't. This doesn't seem very efficient, though. I've also considered sending a file remotely that will contain the user's selection. This seems like a more viable option, but I'm wondering... is there a more effective way to accomplish this?

Thanks!

Sending a file that contains the users selections seems to be the most resonable thing to do i think. Sounds simple enough to do. :)

I'm not quite clear what you want to do...

Are you using Systernals' PsTools to launch a compiled AutoIt script? If so, could you just pass a command-line argument to the script?

Run("ScriptToRun.exe loop") ;called from GUI?

; ScriptToRun.exe
Global $LoopFlag = 0
If $CmdLine[0] > 1 And $CmdLine[1] = "loop" Then $LoopFlag = 1

Do
;code goes here...
Until $LoopFlag = 0

Use Mozilla | Take a look at My Disorganized AutoIt stuff | Very very old: AutoBuilder 11 Jan 2005 prototype I need to update my sig!
