A Little Help Please

8 posts in this topic

I'm trying to script the Acrobat 5 update patch and I have a problem with one window and its child window that changes from active to not active each time the update runs. I tried to use some of the commands but none see to consistently force the child window to be active. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If the child window has a title, try using WinSetOnTop.

I am almost sure winsetontop will not solve the problem.

Activation and ontop are 2 different things.

Your problem can be solve with a

Winwait

WinActivate

WinWaitActive

If you look at the au3recorder tools you will see that is what is generated. :)

Sorry, you're right. I imagined the child window going under the parent window, not just becoming inactive (hidden instead of just not in focus). WinActivate is what I would have suggested had I read it correctly.

ahh,

Use the au3recorder tools to get the correct sequence of code right?

Also correct me here

Winwait for waiting for a window to appear (even if it's a child window)

WinActivate is activating that window forcing it to be active (changing focus)

WinWaitActive is waiting that window (child window) to finish being active.

Is this what's happening?

thanks

No worries you pointed me in the direction ... This worked.

WinWait("Adobe Registration - Registration Choice","Please choose if you")

If Not WinActive("Adobe Registration - Registration Choice","Please choose if you") Then WinActivate("Adobe Registration - Registration Choice","Please choose if you")

WinWaitActive("Adobe Registration - Registration Choice","Please choose if you")

Thanks
