Why All The Fuss About Getting Pixels?

Guys,

I'm really curious about this but why do so many users need to know the information about a pixel? I get the impression it's to do with games? I'd be interested in knowing what value is added to an application by collecting pixel dust!

In some situations where you can't get information based on "Hidden Control" or a "Non-Existant" one, pixel identification comes in handy when what you want has a specific pixel colour. Although I'm sure they would much rather have controls to use because of the speed and the ability to use controls in a minimized/active/hidden state, sometimes (for gamers or applications (mostly gamers I'm sure)) you have to resort to something like that.

I personally use it when I'm needing to read text that the control is hidden and I can't get the information I need and ControlShow()/ConrolFocus()/ControlCommand() won't work. I just take a bit of my time building an OCR for that specific application.
