Limit Items In Combo Control

3 posts in this topic

Does anyone know of a way to limit the number of Items in a Combo box? I know how to limit how many will show but what I have to do is this

The box is originally populated with one item.

A second item is entered into the combo and gets added to the combo list and becomes the default item.

A third item gets entered. At this point it has to replace the second item and leave the first alone.

BTW The first item can be read from the registry and I was thinking of working with that unless someone has a better idea.

That would be something like

GUICtrlSetData('$Combo',|GUICtrlRead('$Combo)|RegRead(Key etc),GUICtrlRead($Combo))

If @Error <> 0 Then Destroy_Computer()

idk if guictrlsetlimite would work but u could do an if statement like

Well for limiting in beta check out

_GUICtrlComboGetCount

and then you could do an if statement

like

If _GUICtrlComboGetCount($Combo) >= 5 then
;blah
endif

and then you could do

_GUICtrlComboDeleteString

just check out the beta help file
