Pixelsearch Shades?

Recommended Posts

Whole lot of pixelsearch posts here and none with a clear answer. So here is a simple question.

How many shades is between 15,000,000 and 16,000,000 decimal color. That will at least give me some idea of how many numbers a single shade is. Or is this easier in hex?

I think it's easier in Hex. That way you can test each part ofthe color- 0x1166DD is broken up into the 3 parts '11' '66' and 'DD' so just test those for a certian difference.

I may be wrong, but I always though of the shades as how far off in either color from the RGB color scheme like a shade variant of 5 and you were searching for

R-250 G-250 b-250(Basically a white)

It would also accept

R-245-255 G-245-255 B-245-255
