Web form - cursor and selection location

Recommended Posts

Before trying this, I'd like to know if it's possible/ viable. From what I've read in the help files and these forums, I'll be able to read the contents of a form <textarea> and store it in a string variable, for further manipulation. What's going to be important though, is knowing the cursor position or the position and length of a selection within said text string. These values will determine where the edits take place, prior to writing the text string back to the <textarea> element.

Any advice to this newbie appreciated.
