In the AutoIt help file there is a comprehensive list of Windows Message Codes. Is there an example anywhere of how to actually use these message codes?

what do you mean?

For autoit like 'MsgBox'?

or what?

Are you trying to determine what the answer of an autoit msgbox is?

Look at GUIRegisterMsg() example in the Helpfile.

Oh those...

I have no idea how to use those, i use the messages not the code
