RegRead and V3

2 posts in this topic

I am a long time V2 user, and I have really enjoyed the challenges and capabilities of V3, but I have something that is currently requiring both V2 and V3 that I would like to move to a single language.

Below is a regedit dump of a key that I need to read. V2 will read this key as a string, but does not have the ability to pull the ASCII codes. V3 will not read the key, but will take a text dump from V2 and deliver the ASCII codes (which then can be converted to the current virus definition date in Norton Antivirus). Any help that can be provided would be appreciated.

Tom

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\LANDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion]

"PatternFileDate"=hex:21,0b,1f,00,00,00,00,00

V2 command for reading the key:

RegRead, NAVDATEFULL, REG_SZ, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE\\INTEL\\LANDesk\\VirusProtect6\\CurrentVersion, PatternFileDate

Perhaps return the -2 error, but also allow the variable to read whatever it can - sort of a "I tried to read it, but I'm not sure if this is what you wanted" scenerio
