Reading Files in an .mpq file

3 posts in this topic

I was thinking about this in the shower, would it be possible to read a file in a .mpq file? A .mpq file is like a compressed file (sorta) and it stores data. It might be a good place to store data. Blizzard uses .mpq files to store their data, and they use the .exe to run the data. Any suggestions?

I believe there are MPQ editors, and they have them for D2 also. That's how they do the multi-d2 correct? using an .mpq file

Yes, there are many mpq editors, I have one and I know how to compile files into them. I'm not that into **Protecting** the file, I just want to use it to have less files.
