Short cuts in menu entries

2 posts in this topic

Hi together,

here is another topic, which I cannot found neither in the help files nor in the forum:

I want to create short cuts in menu entries!

What I found, are shortcuts with _simple_ keys, e.g.:

$mainmenu = GUICtrlCreateMenu ("&File<TAB>F")

$submenu_1 = GUICtrlCreateMenuitem ("&Entry1<TAB>E", $mainmenu)

$submenu_2 = GUICtrlCreateMenuitem ("E&ntry2<TAB>N", $mainmenu)

I have to put an '&' before the (simple) shortcut character, which allows to

activate that menu entry with pressing the appropriate key.

With an <TAB> (that means, you have to press the TAB-Button in the editor),

you get a very well formed menu looking:

File F

Entry1 E

Entry2 N

...

Now my question:

But what should I do, if I want to have an 'Ctrl'- or an 'Shift'- short cut?

Is there any other symbol like '&' ???

I tried some things out, but nothing worked. Any ideas here?

Thanks in advance

Gerhard

If you want someone to choose a menu by pressing CTRL and F say, or Shift and E then why don't you simply say in the menu

File Ctrl+F

Entry1 Shift+E

? ?
