Compiling with Sound Files

7 posts in this topic

I have been writing a complex program and I have finally debugged it. I decided to compile it into an exe so I can show it off to friends, but I have run into an issue. I cannot seem to get the SoundPlay function to work, because I cannot get the file I want it to play compiled into the .exe.

Can someone walk me through this? Let's say that the sound file is C:\Music\Sound1.mp3 and I am going to compile my script into C:\Programs\FinalVersion.exe How do I include the .mp3 into the .exe?

Any assistance would be appreciated....

FileInstall("C:\Music\Sound1.mp3", "C:\Programs\Sound1.mp3")
I have tried that, unfortuanately, I don't want the file in the same folder... I want it compiled *inside* the .exe. Is this even possible in Auto It?

Eehm...everything is possible I guess, but I can't remember seeing anyone do such a thing.

just have it extract to temp folder

FileInstall("C:\Music\Sound1.mp3", @TempDir & "\Sound1.mp3")

and then delete it when exiting the program

FileDelete(@TempDir & "\Sound1.mp3")
