masonje
Long story, but we are just installing XP SP2 where I work. We have scripted the heck out of this and everything works perfectly except for one thing. We surprised the reboot of SP2 itself and all of the SP2 patches, then we reboot the pc when everything is done. However we found one small snag. Shutdown(2) doesn't reboot the PC if it is locked. We are encouraging users to start the upgrade during there lunch brake or when they go home. Many of them are in the good practice of locking the UI when they walk away. When they come in the next day, they log in and it looks like it didn't work and that is generating support calls. Any idea on how to make windows reboot when the workstation is locked? MrBeatnik
Shutdown(6) =Shutdown(2) (reboot) + Shutdown(4) (Force) = Force Reboot. Please correct me if I am wrong in any of my posts. I like learning from my mistakes too.
