Checking a Controls state

Recommended Posts

I run a program that performs a list of actions and the output of those actions are displayed in a status window. The Next button is greyed out until those actions are performed. I want to know if there is a way to check the state of a control, like a button to see if it is enabled or disabled and then to check the text in the status windows to see if the word error is pressent.

Is this possible and can someone lead me in the right direction?

Tanks
