Record Voice from Microphone

Hello,

I would appreciate some guidance on how to accomplish the following objective:

automatically record a voice from the computer's microphone.

I would like to be able to accomplish this without any other windows displayed. For example, a simple AutoIt GUI with a Start and Stop button for recording.

I've search the forums exhaustively I think, but there are several obviously brillant individuals and SO MANY interesting topics that I get distracted! I've been reading posts for over two hours!
