"Do not show hidden files and folders"

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to modify the "Do not show hidden files and folders" option without creating an explorer window and going through Tools>etc... I.e. if it may be a registry key? I googled a bit but no luck.

The reason I'm looking for this is because I want a program to run in the background that will enable this option (instead of showing hidden/system files) every so often if it isn't already checked. Basically I don't want people who might have access to my computer to modify, change, delete, or tamper with hidden files. If anyone knows of a way to do this, much thanks.
