TCP Timeout

I'm making an TCP Based game and I'm trying to figure out a good technique to check if they have logged off. I know TCPTimeout is available but how will my server know they logged off? I'm going to have 3 seperate servers ( Login, Chat, Game ) using SQLite. I was going to use a pre-fabbed chat server but then i tried and its way to confusing.

i dont know if its right but i do it that way:

after TCPsend() or TCPRecv() Check for @error and if there is any

i assume the connection is closed
