If you're using it to close a window then why not look at the windows managment in the help file?

If WinExists('Window name') Then WinWaitClose('WindowName')

Also look at

AutoItSetOption('WinTitleMatchMode')

GEOSoft's advice is almost correct. WinWaitClose() will wait until the specified window no longer exists, but it won't actually attempt to close it. You need to perform the two operations together:

WinClose('The Window')
WinWaitClose('The Window')
