How estimate width & length of unknown pictures?

I'm trying to create thumbnails in a GUI with pictures in different width and length? How can I estimate width and length of a picture-file?

Can I do this with Commands of AutoIt or must I use comspec? And if yes, how? Thanks johannes from germany
