For example, Chess or Checkers would be the easiest. I could just use TCP, and base it off some TCP chat script, right? This may be way over my head, but how hard would it actually be?

Its very possible, and the difficulty depends on what type of game your doing. Also depends if your going to go client->client or server->client. I'm working on a game atm, currently coding the chat server for it. Man more crazy things have been made in autoit. Look at TCP examples etc..
