Script as a Service

Recommended Posts

jbreetz

I'm having trouble getting my script to run as a service. I followed the tips found in the FAQ. I didn't use the autoit script to create the service as I already was using the "sc" command to create it. I made sure that the service could interact with the desktop. When the service manager starts the script, I can see it in the systray, but since it doesn't send back a confirmation or something, service manager never thinks that it starts properly so it kills it and reports an error.

How can I get the script to interact with the service manager so that it doesn't terminate the script?

Thanks.

JB

sc.exe will start...stop valid service excutables...but what you need is a wrapper to make your executable work with the service controller so that is where SrvAny.exe and InnSrv are for. Search and you will find them.
