Write & Read to BIOS

I would like to write an Auto-it script to write purchase date, warranty start/stop date and vendor to BIOS when we purchase and setup a new computer and then our asset management tool which is WMI based can read this info and report back.

Can Auto-It be used for this or should I be looking at another tool?

sry.. you'll have to look at another program. Autoit can't write directly to the bios itself.

Actually.... have you even wrote to the bios before that kind of information? I'm pretty sure most commercial motherboards these days protect against that unless it's one of their own, done before Windows loads, or if their own Windows API is used.... That's how most deadly viruses used to work primarily.

I'm pretty sure you can't just write your own information unless you have their signed coding.
