James
Well first off, have you tried to do it yourself? If not, then use search. Then if you cant find anything out, google it!Secure Blog - Seriously epic web hosting - Twitter - GitHub - Cachet HQ
erebus
From my experience, changing the computer name requires a reboot. If this is not a problem in your case, I believe that you can find a way to do it efficiently via AutoIT. Try googling it to find some tricks to do it. However I am sure that there is a utility out there that allows you to do it via command prompt and it does not require a reboot for that change (however I am not sure what is the trick here -- maybe WMI?). Use google, I remember that in the past I had found it that way.

GEOSoft
erebus is correct that it will require a reboot but also be aware that if the system is on a network then you WILL break the network.I have a compiled beta script that includes the code for changing the computer name. Just decompile the exe and find the right code.http://dundats.mvps.org/beta/reginfo4.zipEDIT: If you want me to post the actual code foryou then you will be waiting until I find the time and inclination to pull that script out of my archives. I haven't worked on it in almost a year. Edited May 6, 2007 by GEOSoft George Question about decompiling code? Read the decompiling FAQ and don't bother posting the question in the forums.Be sure to read and follow the forum rules. -AKA the AutoIt Reading and Comprehension Skills test.*** The PCRE (Regular Expression) ToolKit for AutoIT - (Updated Oct 20, 2011 ver:3.0.1.13) - Please update your current version before filing any bug reports.
